The app is designed to collect only the information needed to provide bus search, route discovery, tracking, and product improvement.

• Route search information: source stop, destination stop, stop codes, searched route names or route numbers, and similar trip inputs that you choose inside the app.
• Bus tracking information: selected route number, route name, trip id, source stop, destination stop, and tracking interaction events.
• App usage analytics: app open events, route search events, bus tracking events, timestamps, app version, device type, operating system, and diagnostic information provided by Firebase Analytics.
• Local app storage: recent searches, last search, and cached bus stop/location data may be stored on your device so the app feels faster and is easier to use.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require your name, phone number, email address, or password.
• We do not create commuter accounts or user profiles.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera.
• We do not ask for GPS permission to track your live personal location. The app uses stops, routes, and bus data selected inside the app.
• We do not collect payment information.

3. How We Use Information

• To show bus options between selected Chandigarh stops.
• To provide live bus tracking and route timeline details.
• To detect smarter transfer or deboarding suggestions.
• To keep recent searches available on your device.
• To understand which app flows work well and which need improvement.
• To diagnose app reliability, loading, or data issues.

4. Third-Party Services

The app may use third-party services to provide analytics and fetch transit information.

• Google Firebase Analytics: used to understand app opens, route searches, bus tracking usage, device/app information, and reliability signals. Firebase may process device identifiers, app instance identifiers, and approximate location derived from network information according to Google/Firebase policies.
• Transit data APIs: the app calls transport data endpoints to fetch stops, route options, connected routes, and trip tracking information. These requests may include the stop, route, or trip information needed to return bus results.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share limited app interaction and device/app data with service providers only when needed to operate analytics, reliability, or transit data features described above.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Recent searches and cached stop data stored on your device remain there until you clear the app data, uninstall the app, or the app replaces them with newer cache data.
• Analytics data is retained according to the settings and retention periods of the analytics provider.
• Because the app does not create accounts, there is no account data to delete. For privacy questions or deletion requests related to analytics, contact us using the email below.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to keep app data limited and handled securely. No mobile app, API, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be fully secure, but we aim to avoid unnecessary data collection and keep the app focused on commuter utility.

8. Children

Where is my CTU is a general commuter utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes, when new features are added, or when legal or platform requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with the effective date above.
